Why I Write Here: Values Before Ventures

My name is Anilcan Sever, and I am an entrepreneur. You can find my businesses on severanilcan.com. This site is something different.

A company tells you what someone does. It rarely tells you why. And the why is what I want to be accountable for — to my family, my customers, my employees, and to the young people who are deciding right now whether building something of their own is worth the risk.

What you will find here

This journal collects my thinking on the things that matter to me most:

• Values and purpose — what I believe, and the goals I measure my life against.
• Peace between religions — helping out in interreligious situations and keeping the peace between faiths.
• Lower taxes — because the people who build, hire and carry risk should keep more of what they create.
• Young entrepreneurs — supporting the next generation as an entrepreneur, not as a commentator.
• Less drug consumption — building products that help people consume less and live with more clarity.
• My ventures — the arbitrage businesses I own, like Stark Transporte, and my upcoming company, Stark Galabau.

Why write at all

Writing forces honesty. It is easy to say you stand for something; it is harder to put it in public, with your name on it, and let others hold you to it.

I would rather be known for what I stand for than for what I own.

So this is my public notebook. Some posts will be finished thoughts. Others will be work in progress. All of them will be mine.

If something here resonates with you — or if you disagree — write to me. The best conversations I have had started exactly that way.
